World AIDS Day 2007 in Pueblo

A two-hour event Dec. 1 at the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center will take note of World AIDS Day.

The 5 to 7 p.m. observance will be held in the arts center's Kid Rock Cafe and will include a presentation by local nursing student Christie Rivelli, who will use words and pictures to recount her recent experiences in Africa with AIDS patients.

Local artists have been encouraged to display their works alongside of the "Face of AIDS" display of mini-quilts that honor the memory of Pueblo-area people who have died of the syndrome. For display information, artists may call 320-8802.

A candlelight service will be held to remember the deceased.

The Bella String Trio will provide music during the "On the Wall - Off the Wall" art display and sale, between 5 and 6 p.m.
